From all that we have stated above, it is clear that Chanukah is a time when every individual can rise to great heights, do complete teshuva, and become a pure and holy person. One can reach a level of being “above nature”.
The Shem M’Shmuel writes that the mazal of the month of Teves is “g’di” (Capricorn – goat). A goat has a tendency to jump from place to place. This was seen in the Chashmonaim’s war with the Greeks, when they jumped beyond the laws of nature. Their small group defeated a massive and powerful army in a supernatural way.
Therefore, this period of the year is a time when one can make such a jump. If one accepts to serve Hashem with his entire heart and soul, even if he is not a worthy person, he will be given supernatural power to make such a jump.
