Sefer Abir Yaakov quotes his grandfather, Rav Avrohom Yaakov of Sadiger zy”a, as saying that Chanukah is just like Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. The only difference is that on those days the inspiration comes from Above, but on Chanukah it comes from down here.
