The Light of Shabbos Chanukah

Sefer Marganisa D’bei Rabbanan writes that he heard the following from Rav Leib Avrohom, the shochet and bodek of the city of Moholov, who heard it from Ruzhiner Rebbe zy”a, in the name of his father, Rav Shalom of Prohobitch zy”a:

The pasuk (Bereishis 1:2) says: “And the land was empty and desolate.” This refers to the Shabbosim before Shabbos Chanukah. It then: “And Hashem said that there should be light.” This refers to Shabbos Chanukah.”
