The Baal Bitachon Is a True Bracha for The Entire Universe

Bitachon Weekly | December 31, 2025

Yaakov is like a Melech over the whole world. Just as the water ran up to Rivka, so did it run up to Yaakov. When he came to Mitzrayim, there was a Bracha for the entire country. The Nile River was controlled by his Koach. And when he departed from the city of Be’er Sheva for Charan, it says: פָנָה זִיוהָ פָנָה הוֹדָהּ פָנָה הַדְרָהּ — “the shine and beauty and glory of the city had departed”. Wherever he lived, the Shechina came along with him.

He was the #1 Baal Bitachon, and the Chovos Halvavos says that a Baal Bitachon brings blessing to those who are close to him (or just see him), and he is a protection upon his city, as it says “A Tzadik is the Yesod (foundation) of the world”. The Chovos Halvavos also says that even the animals and “stones” seek to do the will of a Baal Bitachon. The reason why he has so much respect for the entire world, is because he sees through its guise, and he sees only Hashem everywhere.

R' Dovid Bleicher Zatzal says that the entire Tevah is Mach'nia, and the entire universe: מִשֵשֶת יְמֵי בְּרֵאשִית was created to serve the person whose main desire is to serve Hashem. For this reason, Rabbi Pinchos ben Yair was able to split a river, even to help an Arab: מִפְּנֵי דַרְכֵי שָלוֹם just to maintain good relations.

He says that every tiny move that you do in doing Ratzon Hashem gets the whole world to want to serve you. Like the Chovos Halvavos says that the forces of nature operate according the Torah, in the same way a slave obeys his master. You should realize that if you work a lot on Bitachon, then the whole world, and especially your own city, has lots of benefits because of you.

You may not be aware, but if you spend lots of time with Shaar HaBitachon and your Hashgacha Pratis stories, then Lakewood owes you lots of Bracha. You may be causing all kinds of Refuos and Yeshuos and Hatzlachos in Torah and Yiras Shamayim and Shiduchim. You may be a major factor in why there isn’t a Holocaust going on, Rachmana Litzlan.
