With this the Rambam explains the Chazal, אמות ד' אלא להקב"ה לו אין הלכה של, since the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash, the Ribbono shel Olam has only the four cubits where halachah is learned. Why is this? Because the place where a person learns what he needs to do in order to serve Hashem properly is very precious in Hashem’s eyes—more so than any other place—for it is in this way that a person fulfills his purpose, and not only his purpose, but the purpose of the entire creation.
And so, let us pause and analyze how this works in our world, and we will see something wondrous. A person must understand that when he toils to ascertain how to learn better, how to daven better, how to serve Hashem better, how to handle nisyonos better, what to think, what to speak, what to improve, and so forth, he is fulfilling his purpose on Earth—which is really the purpose of the billions of creations on earth that were created to aid and serve him in this mission. When we reflect on this, we will feel tremendous value and esteem in what we’re doing.
