Stories of His Exceptional Hatzlacha and Siyata Dishmaya

STORY

R' Dovid Bleicher was known for his exceptional Hatzlacha in everything he did. Once, he needed to travel from Mezritch to Vilna, but he mistakenly boarded the train going to Lida. His was exhausted, and he fell asleep on the train. By the time he woke up, he found himself in Lida. His initial reaction was extreme anguish. But then a thought entered his mind: If I came to Lida, there must be good reason. So he went to visit the house of the Rav, an old friend of his. The discussion progressed, until the topic of conversation revolved around one of the best boys in the Yeshiva, who was suggested as an excellent match for the rebbetzin’s sister. The Rav would not let R' Dovid leave until a telegram was sent to Mezritch for the boy to come to Lida immediately, and the shidduch was made.

R' Dovid was overjoyed about his “mistaken” trip to Lida, now that he knew the real purpose of his trip, and he later found out that his plan to go to Vilna would have been pointless anyway.
