רַחְמָׁנָׁא לִּיבָׁא בָׁעֵי Hashem wants our Lev (heart), and indeed Tefila is Avoda She’baLev (service of Hashem using your heart); and we can say that this is also a Remez that when you daven for something that in the end you will never be Zoche to, still, you have shown Hashem that you have the Ikar, i.e., a heart! You have a desire for the truth, and that’s already plenty good; and you’re already getting Schar for being part of the Shas or Tzedaka and Chesed or Shviras HaMiddos or all those Madregos in Bain Adam La'chaveiro that you are always davening for, even though you are still distant from what you keep asking for.
Tefila! Tefila! Tefila! By the Mashgiach, R' Nosson Wachtfogel Zatzal, Tefila was everything, especially these days before Moshiach; and Yitzchok Avinu who symbolized Tefila had a special place by the Mashgiach, R' Nosson Zatzal. Dovid HaMelech said about himself: וַאֲנִּי תְפִּלָׁה תהלים קט ד I am one big piece of Tefila, and Chazal say: הַ לְ וַאי שֶ יִּ תְ פַ לֵ ל אָׁ דָׁ ם כָׁ ל הַ יוֹם כוּלוֹ ברכות כא א Halevai a person would daven all day long. As soon as you start davening for something, in a sense, you are already there.
