It’s Time to Face Reality

Bitachon Weekly | December 10, 2025

Stop living in a cocoon! Stop being an ostrich who hides his head in the sand and doesn’t know what’s going on. A person has to have his feet on the ground and be a realist, not a starry-eyed fool who doesn’t Chap his true situation. Stop dreaming! Live with truth, and stop fooling yourself! שֶ קֶ ר אֵּ ין לוֹ רַ גְּ לַ יִּ ם Sheker has no “feet” i.e., basis.

The real truth is that “I’m super Gevaldig for a million reasons”. But the Yetzer Hara of our times is on a warpath, where he convinces people that they’re no good, or not that good, or incapable, etc. People live with the past, and they don’t realize that these days you usually don’t need to work on Anava. You need to have more Ga'ava!

The Yitav Lev (the Satmar Rov’s grandfather) has a long Shmuess about how important it is to have Ga'ava, and the Shechina is: שוֹרֶ ה rests only by those people who work on: וַיִּגְּבַהּ לִּבוֹ בְּדַרְּ כֵּי ה' lifting their heart in the service of Hashem.

Learn to Believe in Compliments

Our daily Tefilos are loaded with Yetzias Mitzrayim, and all those beautiful Nissim and Yeshuos and all kinds of goodness going on in this world. But so much evil is also part of life. But our daily regimen is almost total recollection of the goodness of this world. A clear message: A person has to train himself to remember goodness, and believe in Kriyas Yam Suf, etc. To believe in goodness is a message for all of us! Aim for positivism! And believe in compliments!
