Look how Ahron gets blamed for causing a: מַ גֵּ פָ ה plague. And: וַיַּרְ א משֶׁה אֶת הָעָם כִׂי פָרֻעַ הוּא כִׂי פְרָעֹה אַהֲרֹן לְשִׁׂמְצָה בְקָמֵיהֶם לב כה Ahron caused the nation to be vulnerable to its enemies. Again, we have a Passuk that blames Ahron for Chet HaEigel. And Moshe says to Ahron: מֶה עָשָה לְך הָעָם הַזֶה כִׂי הֵבֵאתָ עָלָיו חֲטָאָה גְדֹלָה לב כא What did Klal Yisroel do to you, that you caused them such a sin? Chazal say that Ahron saw that they had already killed Chur, and if they would kill him too, they would have killed a Cohen and a Navi, which would bring the worst Churban.
Look how Ahron takes the blame, with horrific embarrassment coming to him. For good reason Chazal say that Moshe and Ahron were: שְּ קוּלִּ ים equal. Just as Moshe says: מְחֵנִׂי נָא מִׂסִׂפְרְ ך לב לב “Erase me from your Torah if you aren’t Mochel them”, so is Ahron becoming an official: חוֹטֵּא sinner forever, just to lessen the blame on the Klal.
Look at the selflessness of our true leaders. When Dovid was running away from his son Avshalom, Chazal say that he wanted to do Avoda Zara so people shouldn’t say: “Look how a big Tzaddik suffers” which would be a Chilul Hashem. And his Chet with Bas Sheva was just: לְּ הוֹרוֹת תְּ שוּבָ ה לְּ יָ חִּ יד to serve as an example that a person can do Teshuva. (Gemara). I was once in a Matzav where the Klal needed me, and it could hurt my Ruchaniyus. R' Gershon Liebman Zatzal told me that: וְאָהַבְתָ אֵת ה' בְ ּכָל נַפְשְׁ ך to love Hashem...
