TRUE STORY
A Yungerman called me about his son who was attacked by two gigantic dogs, and although nothing happened, he is still traumatized (especially since he is a sensitive type). I yelled on the phone that those stupid dogs had no power over him, and he is stronger than them. I insisted that he isn’t really traumatized, and I make a joke out of everyone being traumatized these days for one reason or other.
Of course, a trauma can be a real problem, but my constant laughing and making jokes of silly traumas had a big effect on this boy. I said that he will be strong and perfect, he’ll get married and have a Lebediker Chasuna, and have loads of adorable cute kids whom he’ll be “eating up”. It worked wonders. He was full of humor and Simcha.
Getting a person into a happy mood and talking about cute kids and weddings etc. distracts and cures many times. I speak in a strong voice like I know for sure, and this has lots of convincing power; and people can have Yeshuos even in more severe cases.
STORY
