How is it that the human is always getting ½ ways without finishing? I was asked to speak about Shmiras Einayim, since plenty of people have difficulties and frustrations in that area. I said: “Keep davening!” My Rabbeim (in Novardok and Slabodka) all told me that if you are an: עַקְשָּׁן (stubborn person) and you keep it up, then: בוֹא יָּ בוֹא יוֹם יְ שׁוּ עָּ תֶּ ךָ surely the day of your Yeshua will eventually come. Someday you’ll get there!
(Like an: עַקְשָּׁן (stubborn) baby who keeps crying till Mommy finally comes.) I know a Yungerman who had a terrible Geshmak in evil, and he davened for years, until one day his Geshmak suddenly disappeared! But even if you don’t succeed, you still remain like Moshe Rabeinu, a person who davened all his life for more Kedusha. A person like this is automatically the biggest Kadosh, even though outwardly his friends may be more pure in their actions.
He suffers and has pain all his life because of his inability to conquer his Yetzer, despite so many Tefilos. Nobody can be greater than him, like it says in Mishlei: No one else can feel the pain of your struggle, but the joy of your triumph will be felt by you alone. The Yesod of: לְּפוּם צַעֲרָּא אַגְּרָּא אבות ה כב (the reward increases according to your effort) is #1 by far superior to all Cheshbonos. Notice how it says: Rejoice all you SEEKERS of Hashem, and Hashem wants the person who is M'vakesh Emuna. Striving and desiring is the goldmine of a human’s existence.
