If People Would Learn Enough Mussar, They Would Dance All Day for All the Pain They Go Through

They don’t understand those things, so they suffer needlessly. They should dance all day for all the pain they go through, because pain is a Bracha. Don’t look for it! Don’t ask for it! There are ways of avoiding it, to a degree (like someone who is Osek in Torah and Chesed, or Osek in Bitachon) but most people have to go through them. People don’t appreciate Yissurim. Hashem is only showering them with love. They need it. They need Yissurim desperately. People without Yissurim are dangerous. They're cruel. They lose everything. They're not humans; they're animals. So a person has to appreciate Yissurim. Even the weather is a form of Yissurim. Your slightest pain is considered big Yissurim in Shamayim. Now here comes the worst form of Yissurim; I had this experience many years ago.

TRUE STORY

I was in the hospital for observation, and I wasn’t doing too well. At a certain point they discovered something that they didn’t like, and it looked contagious. So they asked me in a polite way “Mr. Mandel, would you like to have a private room??” “I’m getting this private room all for myself?” (they probably saw that I like to learn alone...) “Yes, that’s a good idea!” They put me in a private room at the far end of the hospital, and suddenly nobody visited me anymore (except special people with masks and gloves...) I never felt so terribly isolated in my life! That exact week was Parshas Metzora. So I had an experience what it means to be a Metzora, Hashem Y'racheim.

My Yissurim are for my benefit, since they get rid of my sins in this world so I can be Zoche to the next world.

A person who endures Yissurim in Olam HaZeh, is Zoche to Olam HaBah
