The Gemara says that a person can take a: דְפוּס form or template, and cause his Esrog to grow into all kinds of shapes and forms. If he makes it look like an Esrog, then it’s kosher; but all other forms are Passul. The most beautiful round and smooth ball-shaped Esrog is not a Hadar, since it doesn’t look like what an Esrog should look like.
I may be loaded with “bumps and ridges” because of my many Nisyonos and weaknesses, but I should still be proud of being myself and not try to imitate others, even if in the outside world they are considered much more Chashuv than me. The biggest “Hiddur” (beauty) in a person is being himself, and being happy with exactly the way Hashem made him.
