Let Them All Keep Their Great Qualities

Bitachon Weekly | June 27, 2025

STORY

Somebody came back from a Levaya, and was jealous over all the wonderful Hespeidim. So his friend consoled him: “Don’t worry, at your Levaya they’ll also make up plenty of lies, just like the lies of this Levaya”. A smart person once said: “Let all those Tzaddikim and Geonim, Gedolim, dignified people, great personalities, and all those much celebrated “success stories” ... keep what they have!”

“I love being “Mr. Zero”, with all my issues and weaknesses, Bizyonos, dysfunctionalities, poverty, lack of social skills, my depressive nature, and my chronic anxieties, etc.” If you are truly like this, then you’re doing more for the world than all those Gevaldige “superior” people! Despite your many Chesronos, you are doing much for the world than others.

With more people like you, there wouldn’t be any Korach’s and Yerovom’s, or wars and Tzaros; and Moshiach would come sooner. So don’t forget to keep being a “proud zero”. (Of course, if you could improve, it would be a big Inyan to move up somewhat).
