The process of chinuch brings with it so many unexpected things... phone calls of all types ... difficulties and struggles.... But a person who approaches chinuch with the attitude that we have outlined isn’t thrown off. He knows that Hashem is good. He knows that all he needs is to accept Hashem’s will for this child with no cheshbonos of what will happen later.
Such a person always knows that everything that transpires with his child is perfectly the way Hashem designed it, and it is good. Everything about the child is perfect, exactly the way it’s meant to be. This will change our reactions to everything that child does, and it will inform our attitudes as we do what we need to do. And the results will ultimately come, because הבא ליטהר מסעיין אותו.
It requires tremendous chizuk to live this way, but by remembering that we are not in control and that we are stewards of Hashem’s children who are here to fulfill His Will, we will surely merit much siyatta diShmaya and much Yiddishe nachas.
